Our youth and partners unite for safer, stronger communities.

ABC6 News recently highlighted Think Make Live Youth in a powerful news feature titled "Bridging the Gap: Youth, community leaders and police unite to build safer Columbus communities.”
The segment underscores TMLY’s unique approach to addressing youth violence—a model built on credible messengers, mentorship, restorative justice, and lived experience. The news team followed our program facilitators and youth participants through community meetings, direct mentoring, and real conversations with city leadership and law enforcement.

Through interviews and group footage, viewers witness the trust that TMLY works so hard to build between youth and adults who are committed to healing harm and preventing future violence. Whether it’s inside a circle, out in the community, or behind the scenes of our weekly programming, the energy and care that drive this mission were on full display.
This isn’t about policing—it’s about prevention. It's about helping young people see themselves differently and giving them the tools and support to take ownership of their stories. When youth are met with consistency, safety, and opportunity, transformation is not just possible—it becomes the expectation.
We’re proud to have our youth and facilitators recognized in this story and grateful to ABC6 for using its platform to elevate community-based solutions. Moments like these help reinforce what we’ve known all along: the power to build safer communities lives within the community itself.
